Two speakers from liberal organizations will be coming to Blair on Thursday, April 18th to speak against the war and about student involvment in national protests. The Blair Social Action club will be participating in a solidarity march about various global issues this Saturday.

The two speakers, Peta Lindsay, youth coordinator at ANSWER , and Carl Messineo, a lawyer and member of the "Partnership for Civil Justice" will speak to students in room 215 at 2:15 and 3:05. Messineo will be discussing the legal aspects of protesting and the expectations for the event on Saturday.

According to Social Action Club member, Rachel Yood, the march is a unification of various foreign-policy protest movements occurring this weekend in the capital against Israeli military actions, globalization, and the war on terrorism. The march, Yood says, is a symbol of the different protests' support for each other and their understanding of the connection between their related issues.

The Social Action Club and other interested individuals will meet Saturday, April 20 at 8:30AM at the Silver Spring Metro (Lower Level) and at the Washington Monument at 10:30AM.

For more information about the issues related to the march, go to the official "United We March" website.
