Adith's bombers after three weeks

The best is yet to come

Adith's bombers have thus far not met the expectations of their boss. Sitting at sixth place in an eight-team division with a record of 11-15-4, certainly does not please any of the Bombers' fans or management. Regardless, there is no need to panic as the bombers are just warming up.

The best offensive player in the league, Albert Pujols, has begun to swing his bat with power and consistency. Just last week, Pujols scored four runs himself, slammed two homeruns and drove in six runs. Pujols' Most Valuable Player (MVP) caliber production would add to an already potent offense.

While the loss of stellar shortstop Nomar Garciaparra will hurt this team, remember Garciaparra was bonus on this team. He was taken in the last round of the draft and thus, Jimmy Rollins was originally supposed to play the position. Rollins actually has better numbers than Garciaparra and thus, the offensive production will not reduce from the shortstop position.

The pitching strength will continue to drive this team. Mark Prior has been the ace of this unit averaging an earned run average (ERA) under one and walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP) of one. He has won all of his three of his starts amassing 22 strikeouts.

The other pitchers slightly drop off Prior's level but get the job done. John Smoltz earned his first victory this week and has had a relatively low ERA since he got shelled in the season opener. Jake Peavy is another pitcher, who is also talented. Peavy boasts an ERA slightly above one and a WHIP below one.

The ace pitching staff, provided they stay healthy, will lead this team to success. The offense with Ichiro Suzuki, Pujols, speedy Juan Pierre and others will start producing at heights never seen before.

The Bombers, despite the slow start, will raise the ranks to number one.
